Adam who is one of our intermediate students is keen on paragliding. We asked him to present his hobby to us. And he did that in a very professional way.
A paraglider is a free-flying, foot-launched aircraft. There are two kinds of paragliding: with an engine and with no engine. Adam is fascinated with the power of wind and aeronautics, and that's why he doesn't use any engine. He is very self reliable, he is completelly dependable on his own abilities. And guess what, Adam is afraid of flying on someone else's aircraft when is not a pilot, which means regular airplanes.
The longest trip Adam took was 2 hours. What he and his firends do is go to Borsk, the nearest hill, wait for the appropriate winds and off he goes! after some time he lands somewhere, packs his wing and goes to the nearest inhabited place to ask "Where the heck am I?" You can imagine the expressions on the passerby's faces...
All in all, a hobby for fun lovers according to laws of nature who like to see the beauty of the Earth from above.
Must try that!
